Day 1 - The Drive to St. Louis

This morning we are waking up in St. Louis, MO! The drive was long but went by fast (or at least as fast as 12 hours can go) and everyone is having a good time. Our route took us through the middle of Arkansas before we turned north just before reaching Memphis, TN. About a hundred miles outside of St. Louis we hit a pretty intense thunder storm. The lightning was awesome with bolts stretching from cloud to cloud across the horizon. The rain was pretty intense though and Josh's and Pat's knuckles were pretty white on the steering wheel towards the end. Fortunately, the journey was safe. This morning we're headed to the Gateway Arch before getting on the road and traveling the final stretch to Chicago and our home-base at the Des Plaines Methodist Campground. Blessings to all of you back home. See you soon!

  1. Thanks Pat and Josh for keeping our group safe through the long drive and bad weather! Hope your knuckles are back to normal today.
